Bunch of Thoughts

Here are a few thoughts I want to just express as they enter my mind.

The body is a temple and we need to be mindful of what we eat and the environment that it has come from. Understanding this, we can look after ourselves better and lead a life of health and wellbeing.

Our live can either be a collection of moments that we have fully lived in or a fleeting shadow that is forgotten.

We can watch the behavior of others, observe and reflect and improve our own lives. We don’t always have to make mistakes and making mistakes is part of an awesome journey.

Sometimes when we think we know something with certainty, we find that the truth is something else. It is not bad to change your opinion, in fact it says more about how truthful and adaptable you are over being stubborn.

Love guides us more than we like to believe. Love provides an imprint on our soul that we can never forget.

Embrace mortality, discover your own humanity.

It’s okay to not be okay with someone

As much as we know it is impossible to be liked by everyone, we still want to be liked by everyone. It may be totally unrealistic but we still strive for it.

Recently, an incident occurred with me and I decided that I don’t have to go out of my way to speak to anyone. It is better to keep your own peace of mind than try and put up a front that everything is okay, especially when it is not okay.

I never believe it is right to act ‘normal’ when the behavior of someone was completely absurd. You should be happy to say that I don’t want such people in my radar. I am not going to be fooled by the fake small talk, fake smiles or even fake praises. It doesn’t please me or allows me to think differently of that person.

I say this because even though I am a strong believer in forgiving and I feel it is healthy to forgive someone mainly for your own self and own sanity, it is perfectly fine to forgive and keep that person out of your life.

Sometimes, people may think you are wrong or that it is not right to ignore or avoid someone deliberatly but in the end, they will probably agree that you did the right thing because you put yourself first, you thought about your own feelings and realized the importance of them.

I don’t know if many will agree with what I am saying and let me know by writing a comment, I would love to read your views and consider them.

Foolishness

Many-talk-like-philosophers-yet-live-like-fools

You must have met someone who you find is an absolute fool. They are those people that are totally living in a closed world. They don’t think beyond their world. Whatever is in their world, they believe that everyone should follow that. They do not understand what reality may even hold. They are simply those people who never seem to understand anything other than their own wants and needs. If they get it, they love you. If you challenge that, they don’t like you. They simply never care about hurting anyone in the process. They are so absorbed in their ego that reality has gone far ahead and they are still living in some previous glory in a fantasy past that they have probably recreated and reedited in their own mind.

I come across and you must come across fools on a weekly basis at the very least. It is simply a challenge on how to respond to them and how to be around them. You know that they may say something so ridiculous that you want to run away from them as soon as possible.

Most likely, the person that you want to avoid or you walk the other way from is probably a fool. Hence, we as social beings take radical steps to walk away from such people. Even though we have to try and work with them in some capacity, we can always limit our interaction time. We all have a Pandora’s box of excuses to run away from those questions.

I always advise to limit your time in being in the space of such fools. Foolishness is easily transferred. Watch your own thoughts and actions, be so acutely aware that everything you do or think is in the accordance of your being/heart and not your mind. Keep this advise especially if the fool wants to speak to you and you know it is polite and courteous to do so and we must adhere to this social code, even though we want to run a mile away.

Our behavior and our way of being will both attract and detract fools and we never know what it may be, that is the great byproduct of being wise. The wiser you are, the more the fool tries to disturb you. Let the fool try, and never try to please them or respect them more than they deserve. Imagine what the fool will think when they know a wise person likes them! It’s ego delight!

Anyway enough about fools and their foolery! Remember, the main thing and that is within you there is a formless space where neither the wise nor the fool is, stay there.

The Morning – we define it…

ap,550x550,12x12,1,transparent,t.u1

The morning has some amazing qualities, there is a capturing silence that pervades the whole area around you. You start to see the beginning of the sunrise and the birds that chirping melodious to a sound that they can probably hear from the other end of the universe. Such beautiful melodies that no human mind can touch.

I have often wondered that a morning really helps define the day. If I wake up with gratitude and joy, I tend to face the situations of day to day life, minute to minute situations with a little bit more aliveness. However, if I wake up grumpy and miserable then I feel like the world is trying to attack me. Yes, the very world that I have created. I, myself am the architect of my reality that is ruled by sensual perceptions. This is true for all of us right now or before we attain some sort of spiritual awakening.

Going back to waking up with gratitude and happiness, it’s not that the world doesn’t attack us, or people do not upset us in the day. They do what they need to do. However, it will not hit you as hard as it does for those that wake up in a ‘bad’ mood.

We truly define our morning as well as our own day. If I want to, if I have woken up in the morning absolutely miserable, I can remind myself that ‘I, myself am the architect of my reality.’ This time without sense perception of what I see, hear, touch, taste or smell. This time, there is no interference. To the point, that I am able to even transcend the thought ‘I, myself am the architect of my reality.’

This would lead me to a thoughtless state of just observing and being aware. This is not just me, but the story of you too. This is the story for all of us. One day, we will all travel to a point where we touch the edge of a thoughtless experience (as I am listening to Hans Zimmer’s No Time for Caution from Interstellar) and choose to either dwell in it or turn our backs to it.

The choice is mine and yours.

It’s okay…

It’s okay to feel exhausted on some days, it is okay to feel that the whole world is resting upon your shoulders and it is absolutely okay to be overwhelmed. Sometimes, we are told that we need to think a little more positive, be a bit more optimistic and all we want to do is allow these emotions to live out their short-life span.

If happiness is our natural state, then like clouds across a blue sky, let the cloud of emotions pass by and the blue sky of happiness will appear. I believe the best way to ever deal with emotions is to be aware of them and be okay with it. As you know that ultimately nothing remains the same, all this shall pass.

We definitely have the power to overrule our emotions, we can smile when we have been uncontrollably crying at the kind request of a loved one. We know we have that capacity but all I really want you to know is that it is okay to let your emotions pass by and yes, your happiness remains untouched and unblemished. I know this sounds a little strange but what I am trying to express here is that sadness and happiness is separate and they don’t mix well. You can’t be in the middle. Some people say they are okay, neither happy nor sad. However, I still see this as sadness as it is an unrecognized place.

Let me know if you agree or disagree with me. I would love to know your views.

Temptation – A Positive Approach

temptation_to_no_avail_be46Temptation is annoying. Damn annoying and the annoying thing about this is the fact that you are in control of your temptations. What is it that triggers the temptation? What then fuels this temptation? Obviously, thought always gives energy to temptation or to anything that we wish to remove ourselves from.

Being on a vegan diet is difficult as it is. I recently went into Waitrose (I am not middle class) and they do quite a bit for us vegan peeps. They had these ginger – chocolately biscuit bites and they are pretty yum. However, I have put them in the freezer and I want one. I could give in to temptation as I salivate about them now or prove determination over temptation. Today, I wanted to avoid sweet things and wanted a healthy day. Trust me, when chocolate is scarce already then all you can think about is chocolate.

Temptation happens in all parts of life. The temptation to look at an attractive woman or come across an amazing and beautiful woman on instagram or facebook, especially the ones you know and you have that desire to pursue that temptation and then reality sticks its nose in it and it is all over. You start thinking of reasons why it cannot and should not work. You think of the last time she rejected you and stopped talking to you and mentioning how hot she looks may literally be the last nail in the coffin to any possibility of ‘something’ later. What is this ‘something’ beats me.

When I am meditating, I feel like putting my attention and awareness on the occasional itch on my arm. The itch that never occurs otherwise but suddenly finds it amusing to happen now. You can’t take the intensity of the meditation and 5 seconds feels like 5 hours. How can one be still? The temptation to move gets stronger and stronger. However, your determination wins, your willpower is victorious because no way will you let anything stop you from your goal.

The times when someone ignores you and you just want to tell them that it isn’t cool. They have posted on Facebook, Instagram or whatever. Nowadays, snapchat easily shows someone opening your post thing and they don’t reply to it. Sad times! However, why should people reply? That is attention seeking. My existence isn’t worth the response of every single person. It is mad and I don’t respond to everyone’s and that is because I think my life is the best! Madness I tell you!

Temptation is crazy and yet, it is what makes you grow. Be happy that you are tempted because it shows that you can make your willpower stronger and stronger. It is a gym session for your willpower. Temptation can be made positive if you want it to. And if temptation wins then so what. Sometimes, eating that ginger biscuit chocolate bite thing may make you happy. Telling that one woman that you have secretly been attracted to her can be the beginning of a blossoming relationship. Scratching that itch may help you get back to meditation and moving may make your bottom feel less numb! Also, telling those people not to ignore you may create a conversation that will eventually change your life. I know it does sound incredibly ideal but let’s be real, whatever was once ideal has become a reality. I remember being a kid and thinking about cameras on mobile phones being revolutionary! So things can be done.

Whatever it is that tempts you right now and you see a spark of positivity in it then go for it. If it doesn’t work out then fair enough, their loss aswell as yours!

Love and blessings,
Rahul

Post 95 – Knowing is the Only Way!

Hi readers!

Hope you are well.

I had a thought, can I call it a thought or shall I say revelation? Hear this out: ‘If you know the Truth then you don’t know. You can only be in knowing of the Truth.’

I probably could say the last sentence with greater clarity but I shall explain this a little now. Whenever, you come to a point and say ‘I know the Truth’ that cannot be the Truth speaking. It can only mean that you have given up knowing or desiring to know more. Instead, you have made the Truth a possession and you cannot possess the Truth. It cannot be grasped nor seen but it creates a great amount of intensity within you. It creates something intimate, where the feelings overflow into something magnificent. So the state of what is called enlightenment is the discovery of knowing. Knowing is everlasting, it is infinite and therefore cannot be grasped by thought. If it is, it creates memory and memory cannot be the Truth. Truth is always new, always fresh and pleasant as it is created from wisdom. Truth is freedom. Memory is distorted and can lead to illusion as it is base is knowledge or just mere words on a paper. Memory is a prison.

Therefore, meditation must be treated as a ground for inner enquiry and discovery. It is easy to say there is a God or there is a soul. But has this very discovery been your own? Never be comfortable with any idea. The Truth is never comfortable because it implies knowing which leads to internal growing. Remember, knowing is a verb, it is action. And to know really means you knew. If you know something today then tomorrow it may be something different. Therefore, this means you ‘knew’, you don’t ‘know’ it. You have to think about this. This might sound a little too intellectual but if you let this settle within you, enquire within you, be part of this whole discussion then something great can be discovered. Can you know God? Can you know the Truth?

I shall keep this post nice and small so you may think about it.

My love to all,

Rahul
